'bout the scope, it's actually painted with the typical "hammered" finish, like the PSO-1s. There doesn't seem be a standard tint, some are darker than others, possibly, even some, like the earlier PSO-1s could have been just painted with glossy black paint. I'll see what looks better, it can always be tweaked. About the AK74N textures, that's more or less how all aks should look. But it doesn't show exactly the same ingame, unfortunately. It really depends on the engine - even the previous rusty textures look very different in other engines.
Here are some reference pictures of the NSPU 34 :
This one's more or less the same color, maybe even a bit darker : http://zenphotos.net/file/Online/SVD/SGL31/SGL31_NSPU_01.JPG
And this one's a closer look at the finish I was talking about : http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e266/bigmegina/nv.jpg
Yup. Early generation night vision scope. Western scopes of the same era were not exactly smaller, as seen here :
http://ugca.org/07jan/night.htm
It was adopted somewhere during the mid 70's, if I remember right, and remained in service up until, roughly, the mid 80's. Then, it was replaced by the 1PN58 (not much smaller, but a bit lighter). It was part of the kit that came with the AK(S)-74Ns. It's heavy (it almost doubles the weight of the AK74) and bulky (New ones are really tiny, in comparison), but is also very durable, thus something that would fit a post-apocalyptic world... :-)
God damn it, Heffy, you are f*cking awesome! The texture of AK74 is really great. About night scope, IMO it should be brighter, more metallic.

My God, this one huge and atrocious bigass night scope. I never saw something like that before. Say goodbye the balance and hello overweight.
ReplyDeleteBut yeah I like it and I hope we will get your update soon, too much awesome stuff now.

I guess it's better than nothing at night, but damn that is a big optic. Will it also have a smaller (and much more aesthetically pleasing) day scope?
ReplyDeleteI think you should keep the second one too, like the pictures I saw around on google, the skin tone is much lighter than your 1st version.
